The aim of the research programme ARCOP (Arctic Operational Platform) is to elaborate definite solutions for the transport of oil and gass along the western part of the Northern Sea Route. The programme is build on results from INSROP and the Eu-financed ARCDEV programme. FNI’s contribution is within the thematic scope of ‘Administrative measures for the marine transportation in the Arctic Russia' and consists of two studies:
1. The legal status of the Northern Sea Route in relation to petroleum transportation and shipping transport services WTO/GATS (General Agreement on Trade in Services)
2. Risk Management for NSR Navigation.
Funding: EU (Competitive and Sustainable Growth Programme), and some own funding
